Set the Boundary,

Build the Relationship

A Workshop & Support Group for Parents of Neurodivergent Children

Wednesday’s 6:00-7:30, September 18th through October 23rd

Parenting is challenging enough. Once you add layers of neurodivergent behaviors both diagnosed and undiagnosed, answering the question ‘What do we do now?’ can leave you feeling depleted and isolated.

Mission Statement:

Miracles in Parenting and Movement Counseling + Wellness have joined forces to create an enriching experience! By merging an interactive hands-on workshop with a supportive group counseling, our goal is to empower you with a practical plan for setting effective boundaries with your neurodivergent children. You'll experience feeling seen, heard and understood in a compassionate community where you can share experiences and receive emotional support. Having a weekly plan of action allows you to implement new strategies that fit your unique family situation with the added bonus of coming back to fine tune your approach in a community of likeminded parents.  A judgement-free space allows walls and barriers to come down so you can bring fun to and experience ease in boundary setting while learning to connect with your child like never before.

Meet the Facilitators

  • I am the founder of Miracles in Parenting where I offer coaching service to parents of children who are neurodiverse. Coaching with families is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every family’s coaching is tailored to meet their specific challenges and family culture, making my approach truly unique.

My son was first diagnosed with Autism 17 years ago. Our story is one of great success; a miracle actually. The incredible recovery we have experienced resulted from learning new skills and tools as my family navigated our way through this journey together. The tools I discovered are gifts I want to share to empower parents as they embark on their own parenting adventure. I’m a mom, educator, and mentor who has been supporting children and parents for over 20 years. With my background as a Certified “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent” Facilitator, Elementary and Early Childhood Education Teacher, I am your consulting source for behavioral issues that stem from both typically developed children to special needs. I will help you navigate the Autism/Special Needs Journey by supporting and guiding you in your relationship with your children.

  • Susan grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and obtained her undergraduate degree in Wellness Management studying nutrition, exercise, and holistic wellness strategies. Susan is currently an intern at Walden University graduating in early 2025 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health.

Life’s twists and turns brought Susan to a career in counseling later in life. Raising neurodivergent children and having loved ones experience substance use disorders ignited a passion for supporting children, teens, and families. She has years of experience working with loved ones of people with addiction disorders as a Community Reinforcement And Family Training (CRAFT) facilitator and in a 12-step family group. Susan believes the relationship between counselor and client is the cornerstone to therapeutic work. She prioritizes creating a space that encourages authenticity and facilitates positive change and healing.

  • Working together as coach and counselor, Susie and Susan hope to provide a space for parents of neurodivergent children to learn skills and discuss the emotional highs and lows of parenting.

One part of the group will be a workshop and the other a group therapy session.

  • This group meets every Wednesday from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, September 18th through October 23rd. It will held at Movement Counseling + Wellness.

    1420 W. Canal Ct. Suite 250
    Littleton, CO 80120

  • Participants will have a trusted community and support to bounce ideas off of to find the strategies that work for their individual needs.  In addition, parents will walk away with developmentally appropriate boundaries, language to use when setting a boundary and ways to bring consistency to the boundary being set.
